On Monday morning, a rollover crash in Newark, Delaware caused personal injuries for four individuals. The crash occurred on Chapman Road at the University Plaza shopping center near Christiana Road around 7:50 am. During the crash, two vehicles collided, causing one vehicle to rollover and another to split in half. Four people were hospitalized at local hospitals, including a woman and two boys from the overturned car, and an occupant from the other car. No information is available regarding the extent of injuries in the rollover crash.
Rollover crashes commonly occur with SUVs due to the top-heavy nature of the vehicles although other cars may be vulnerable to a rollover crash if conditions allow for it. Occupants in an overturned vehicle are at-risk for sustaining personal injuries, catastrophic injuries, or even fatalities in a crash. Additional causes for a rollover crash may include speeding, reckless driving, drowsy driving, or distracted driving.
