Rehoboth Beach Pedestrian Accident Causes Fatality

Rehoboth Beach Pedestrian Accident Causes FatalityA pedestrian accident occurred on Monday night when a box truck fatally struck a man from Millsboro, Delaware. Right before 11 pm, the 26-year-old man was walking along the Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware when the box truck hit him. The 56-year-old man from Orlando, Florida who was operating the truck escaped the pedestrian accident unscathed, and apparently did not see the victim when the incident took place.

Delaware ranks as the most dangerous state in the U.S. for fatal pedestrian accidents since many rural roads in the state are becoming more congested with traffic. Along with an increase in pedestrian accidents comes the possibility for more personal injuries sustained by victims as well as the potential for fatalities. Although measures are taken by the state to ensure the safety of pedestrians, including the distribution of flashlights to them, this does not guarantee that accidents will not happen.
