Employees at refineries may be more at risk for developing injuries due to the danger inherent at these types of facilities. In some cases, proper safeguards or routine maintenance may be lacking at the facility that may lead to injuries and even fatalities for employees. Burn injuries may range from minor to severe and could result in permanent disfigurement or other life-changing health issues.
